Why it’s so hard to lose weight

Bodies have multiple stable body weights. Once you’re in one stable state, it’s hard to shift to the next.
That’s why some people can seemingly eat what they like without gaining, and others can starve themselves and never lose it.

Some years ago I was described by the GP as being mildly obese at 108kg. The mildly obese bit hurt the ego so I went on the GP’s prescribed 1000cals a day diet, and over the 4 months of summer I shrank to 87kg. Felt great. Not long after I was in Melbourne and attended my first AFL match Fitzroy v Melbourne. Outside the G I was influenced by my Victorian friend to eat one of the most attractive looking jam and cream doughnuts I had seen since school days. And zippo…that started the very easy road back to 110kg. I’m weak.

I’m a USA size 6/ sometimes 4 in pants. Yes, my butt is hot.

What you burn off and what goes in are the golden answers.

Walking is the best way. I suggest at least one hour a day. 1.6
