The new Star Trek movie is great. We don’t learn much about Earth of the future except that the fields of the Iowa countryside now have towering cities looming in the distance, and that there is a vast, militaristic government running everything. (some have suggested Star Trek portrays a fascist society)
The plot is made of swiss cheese, but they pull the whole thing off with panache, and it’s a great, rollicking story. I liked it.
